Why We Must Eat Lots of Fish

Omega 3 content of positive benefit to the heart organ.
Fish accounted for as a source of nutrients is very high. Content of Omega 3 in fish can prevent heart disease and other degenerative diseases.

A study presented in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology in July 2008 showed that Japanese society that likes to eat fish have a high heart healthier than North American society who rarely ate fish.

The results of research by Dr. Daat Kromhout of the University of Leiden, the Netherlands, also showed that people who eat fish about 30 grams a day have an increased risk of heart disease 50 percent lower than those who never ate fish.

"The main problem we experienced in Western culture is very little we eat fish," said William Harris, Director of Research of Metabolism and Nutrition University of South Dakota.

Harris says, the consumption of two meals containing fish once a week meets the needs of Omega 3 in the body of 500 milligrams. Omega 3 fatty acids which are produced through fatty compounds in the metabolism of fish. In addition to producing Omega 3, fish also contains plenty of protein, vitamins, and minerals.

In addition to the positive benefit to the heart organ, Omega 3 is also useful for lowering blood cholesterol levels, weaken the growth of cancer cells, and increased intelligence of children. In fact, people who liked to eat fish have a longer life expectancy.
